I was commissioned by The Sunday Times Magazine to illustrate Gazza and try to encapsulate his intense and explosive energy.

After finding out more about Paul Gascoigne (Gazza), I realised pretty quickly that this collage was going to have to pack a punch and that nice, neat little cuts were not going to hit the mark. Cue – big bold rips, manic and chaotic layering, with a fractured composition; and you have a slice of the Gazza energy.

I really enjoyed working on this piece and can imagine if me and Paul were sitting down together, that this is the type of collage we might make.
